Enslaved African working on plantations in the Americas and elsewhere around the world have horrific stories to tell. During the long history of the slave trade (more than 400 years),

Africans were kidnapped, chained up, and thrown overboard ships bound for other territories. Unfortunately, many of the enslaved Africans perished during their horrendous voyages on the ships. It was the beginning of sleepless nights and working on plantations on an empty stomach for many of those who had survived.

Forcing black women to breastfeed white children and slaves’ experiences on ships and in the fields has been made public. However, it appears that the general enslavement of women’s experiences during slavery is given considerable attention. Much attention has been diverted from the plight of the enslaved people.

Who, in addition to enduring long hours at work, had also gone through traumatic events. To begin, both slave owners and slave traders sexually exploited African men while they were in captivity.Face2Face Africa conducted some research and discovered these accounts of enslaved African men who had been sexually abused.

Enslaved African: Rape

Surprisingly, enslaved African men were just as likely as women to be raped. However, the problem of enslaved males being raped went mostly unnoticed since men were often reluctant to speak up. Men who were merchants or the proprietors of the businesses had raped them, they said.

Slave rape was rampant in the southern United States and Cuba throughout the Spanish colonial era. Sexual slavery was rampant in the Caribbean, with many enslaved men being sexually abused on ships and in hidden sex farms and season plantations for homosexual slave owners. They were also put to death if they rose in revolt. The idea of enslaved men being raped seemed absurd, and I couldn’t believe it.

Many of the rapists were married or had multiple girlfriends, which made them easy prey. Furthermore, there was no physical evidence that they had been raped, as neither of them became pregnant nor showed signs of physical harm due to the ordeal.

Slave Trade:

During the time of the slave trade, the rape of enslaved African males was a well-kept secret. When their lords were away, enslaved males were made to have sex with their captors’ wives. Quite a few of these European mistresses enslaved strong African male slaves. Enslaved men’s rape was mainly ignored because the conversation surrounding rape had shifted so heavily in favor of women.

For a variety of reasons, the sexual exploitation of slave masters has gone largely unstudied. One of the reasons is that male rape victims did not leave behind children as proof of their crime. As a result, it’s difficult to write about it and shed light on the sexual abuse of male slaves and there are few documented cases. When it comes to sexual assault, we don’t know or have adequate information on male victims. 

Slave women who suffered sexual assault have been well recognized throughout history. Enslaved men, on the other hand, were subjected to a different kind of horrible sexual torture throughout the American slavery era. Because of the present historical inclination to classify rape along gender lines, it is thought that the assault of enslaved African males has gone unnoticed as well.

Inhumane Practices Such As Castration And Female Genital Mutilation:

Castration and sexual mutilation were common punishments for enslaved males. An enslaved guy was subjected to such abuse. if he was found having an affair with the wife or daughter of his master. When it comes to merchants and slave owners, it’s hard to tell. A liaison with a female slave. As a result of these activities, the enslaved guy no longer had any pride in himself.

Castration was common for enslaved men, particularly those who held leadership positions on a plantation or in a rebel organization. And referred to women as a way of demonstrating white male dominance.

Breaking The Bank:

Slavery and white supremacy were common in the Caribbean, as merchants engaged in this type of sexual assault. They are performing a public rape on a male slave to humiliate and degrade him. Buck Slave rebellions intensified, and breaking became increasingly fashionable. Many enslaved African males committed suicide or fled following the buck-breaking process, never to be found.

To serve as a warning to other slaves, white men would strip nude and flog them in front of a crowd before raping them. Male slaves who had families were raped in front of their sons or forced to have sex with each other in front of their families. Buck breaking was a technique for white nationalists to humiliate black males and demonstrate their superiority.

Having Fun With Sex:

White racists, wealthy merchants, and nobles frequently used enslaved men as sexual props. Then they were made to do a bare-chested dance for them. To amuse white audiences, an enslaved male would be forced to have intercourse with an enslaved virgin. The sexual organs of enslaved males were frequently scrutinized, ridiculed, and discussed while they stood in a line, naked.

Farms That Raise Horses:

Slavery decreased dramatically as a result of the abolitionist movement’s efforts to abolish the practice. Abolitionists helped slaves escape, and many of them gained the confidence they needed to rebel, resist, or flee.

A lucrative business emerged from animal breeding farms in South America, and the term “mother fucker” was coined to describe a man who was having relations with his mother.

The slave trade suffered greatly due to this, and plantation owners lacked sufficient labor to meet the demand for their products on the market. After that, they established breeding facilities that preyed on men’s sexuality. Enslaved men who were physically fit were made to perform sexual acts with women to get the latter pregnant.

Whether these women were the men’s mothers, daughters, or cousins didn’t matter to the white slave owners. To increase the number of women who became pregnant, the men were forced to have sex with at least six different women each day. Many of the breeding farm bosses, who were enslaved African men, died of sexual exhaustion.
